The Raven

I love ravens, and have always looked forward to their company on canoe trips and hikes, and along steelhead rivers. Several years ago, I sat an overlook along Yellowstone Lake when a raven descended down on the breeze. He’d pretty obviously been spoiled with food by other visitors, but all we shared between us was my poorly croaked conversation. The visit went on for fifteen minutes or so, and has never left me. I decided I wanted to celebrate the encounter with a woodcut.

First proofs were printed with Lyell Castonguay and Carand Burnet of Big Ink, through Whiteaker Pintmakers.

It is available for purchase here on my website in the store tab.

I began the edition of my woodcut, Raven, with the help of the Watershed Center for Fine Art Publishing at the Pacific Northwest College of Art. Prints are available for purchase under the store tab on my website, RichardCHarrington.com

My Mother's Country

A video shot on the ranches of my extended family in eastern Oregon, giving some of the background behind my barn paintings.

Todd Harrington made it better than I could have hoped, and had enough patience to get us through the job together. Thanks, bud.
